Dogs Trust Leeds is in urgent need of donations for its Santa Paws Fair
Staff and four-legged residents at Dogs Trust Leeds are hoping that generous members of the public and local businesses will help to make this year’s Santa Paws Weekend a success by donating prizes for their raffle and tombola.
Taking place at the York Road Rehoming Centre from 12pm-3pm on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 December, staff are appealing for donations for the tombola and raffle which help raise thousands of pounds for homeless hounds every year.
At least 100 dogs will spend Christmas Day at the centre and every penny raised will go towards looking after the dogs until they find their forever homes. Prizes have previously included everything from bottles of wine and chocolates to teddy bears and toiletries and vouchers for spa treatments and experience days.
Sarah Hey, Supporter Relations Officer at Dogs Trust Leeds, said:
“Our slogan is ‘A dog is for life, not just for Christmas’ but unfortunately many dogs find themselves without a home. Our Santa Paws Weekend raises much needed funds so we can give the dogs everything they need at Christmas and every day they are with us.
“With just a month to go we are hoping that once again kind-hearted dog lovers will be as generous as they have been in previous years and help make the day a great success.”
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet Santa Paws in his grotto and have their picture taken with their four-legged friend and the man of the season as well as enjoying Christmas refreshments and much more.
If you are able to help, please send or drop off any donations to Dogs Trust Leeds,
