On Saturday 4th November 2017, members of the Marie Curie North Leeds Fundraising Group will be throwing a “Blooming Great birthday party” for Marie Curie, the Polish/French scientist whom the charity is named after. The event will take place from 11am – 3pm at Grove Methodist Church, Town Street, Horsforth.
The group came up with the idea when they discovered it would have been Marie Curie’s 150th birthday this November.
There will be a variety of stalls, games and entertainment, a children’s activity room and much more! Refreshments and lunches will be available, also “Mocktails” courtesy of Hemmingways. If you’re looking for something fun for the kids to do then this is the perfect event for you!
Entrance is £1 (children & OAPs free) which includes a lucky number draw.
This will be the group’s second event since forming in 2016. The North Leeds Fundraising Group have raised over £3500 so far for Marie Curie through supporting The Great Daffodil Appeal, supermarket collections and holding a Blooming Great Tea Party.
Linda Breckill, North Leeds Fundraising Group Chair said: “The group really enjoys organising these events and we’re trying to bring the FUN back into FUNdraising! We would also like to say a big ‘Thank you’ to all the shops, businesses and individuals who donate so generously.”
